Community based aquaculture in the Western Indian Ocean - Local communities gain technical assistance regarding small-scale farming of seaweeds, sea cucumbers and other invertebrates leading towards sustainable local development and conservation of important habitats.

Training - Integration of marine conservation into climate change adaptation where local marine protected area managers are introduced to the challenges facing marine conservation in relation to climate change impacts on coastal and marine ecosystems. So far, more than 25 local managers from Madagascar have been trained. Sponsored by WWF Madagascar

Marine surveys in Western Ghana where shallow fish and benthic communities of shallow rocky shores were surveyed. In addition, preliminary socio-economic surveys were conducted. Project owner: Coastal Resources Center, University of Rhode Island. In collaboration with Blue Ventures Conservation.
